Pregnancy can bring questions that extend far beyond the pregnancy itself. You may be wondering how to find prenatal care, afford everyday needs, apply for assistance, or find stable housing.
The Cottage Women’s Care can help you identify programs and providers serving Washington, Nowata, and Osage counties. Talk with an advocate about what you need, and they can provide information and referrals to organizations that may be able to assist you.
Finding the Right Resources
Every woman comes to us with different concerns. An advocate can listen to what you are facing and help you determine which programs or providers may be worth contacting.
Each organization establishes its own services and qualifications, but you do not need to research every possibility before talking with us.
Prenatal and Health Care
The Cottage Women’s Care provides pregnancy testing and ultrasounds, but we do not provide ongoing prenatal care.
Once your pregnancy is confirmed, beginning prenatal care is an important next step for your health and your pregnancy. Our team can provide referrals to healthcare providers and other services in the area.
Insurance and Assistance Programs
State and community programs may provide assistance with healthcare, nutrition, and other needs during pregnancy and after your baby is born.
Our advocates can provide information about programs such as SoonerCare and WIC and direct you to the appropriate resources to learn about qualifications and the application process.
Housing Resources
If you are pregnant and concerned about where you will live, talk with an advocate about what you are facing. They may be able to provide referrals to housing resources in the community and direct you to organizations that can explain their services, qualifications, and next steps.
Adoption Resources
If you are considering adoption, you may have questions about how the process works, what choices you can make, and where to find additional information.
Our advocates can provide information about adoption and direct you to additional resources if you decide you want to explore this option further.
Support After an Abortion
Past experiences can continue to affect women months or even years later. If you are struggling after an abortion, you can contact The Cottage for information about outside support resources.
While we do not currently provide post-abortion support services directly, our team can refer you to other sources of support.
Looking for Material Resources?
Depending on current availability, The Cottage may provide diapers, wipes, baby clothing, and other infant essentials through our Support Services. Contact us to learn what is available and how to receive assistance.
Start With a Conversation
You may need one referral or several different resources. Start by telling an advocate what you are facing; they can help you identify resources and explain how to contact the appropriate organizations.
